About Me

“Family Values” are not just words around here!

Brief comments regarding my personal and professional background.

My early childhood days and developing years were primarily spent in the mountains of western North Carolina, so I am proudly a Southerner by birth and by the grace of God. As a young college student, I had the privilege of attending and graduating from UNC at Chapel Hill with the class of 1974, earning a BS degree in Business Administration. Immediately following college, I served for 4 years in the military, earning the rank of Captain in the US Marine Corps as a Communication’s Officer, thereby repaying my commitment to the U.S. Government for the NAVAL ROTC scholarship that greatly helped me financially through college. Following my 4-year tour of duty in the military, I spent an abbreviated few years with 2 major Fortune 500 companies (Johnson Controls & MCC Powers), working as a Branch Sales Engineer and Regional Product Service Manager in the environmental controls industry, just prior to coming into the Real Estate business in February 1982 (almost 40 years now active as a locally licensed Realtor/Broker & still going strong).

My beautiful wife, Marianne, and I moved to this part of NE Suburban Atlanta Georgia in January 1981, right after our Nov.1980 wedding, and in the same year we both started the pre-license training to become Realtors. She placed her license “on the shelf” as we started the beginnings of what would grow quickly into a “real family” in 1985. We have now proudly completed the process of completely weaning our six young adult children, currently spanning in age from 31 to 37, with five sons and one daughter. This current year in 2022, our extended family has now continued well into the next generation with a new total of 19 wonderful grand-children, as 5 of our kids are now married, so the new head count, including grands is already up to 32 (and counting) in our immediate clan.

You can see clearly why I have jokingly said for years that my earned real estate  “success fees” could be considered as “tax deductible contributions to needy children.” I have obviously always worked more from the basis of need, rather than greed, believe me. “Family values are not just words around here!”

Our “kids” have certainly been a very central focus for our lives over the past three decades. My wife and I are proud to say that we consider ourselves as devoted Christian parents and grand-parents, and our children have all been very involved with church and mission-type activities. Our oldest 3 sons have all graduated with Seminary degrees, and the others are devoted to their individual faith walks as well. We continue to be a very blessed family in so many ways.

In every area of my life, I always strive for excellence. I am a passionately self-disciplined individual, and I make conscious efforts to be the very best at anything I try to accomplish. Over the years, I have routinely jogged, cycled or exercised in some capacity 7 days a week, starting early each morning, usually at just before daybreak, typically clocking in with an approximate daily goal of one hour of exercise. I guess many would say that I have a typical “type A” driven personality.

I have also tried to advance my real estate education over the years by getting my Broker’s license very early in my career, and subsequently earning coveted designations and REALTOR awards like: “Certified Residential Specialist, Graduate Realtors Institute, Senior Real Estate Specialist, e-PRO, and Accredited Buyer’s Representative.” Before starting my own company, I also spent over 18 years as a top producing local Re/Max Associate Broker and agent, where I was inducted into their Designated Hall of Fame, for receiving over 1 Million dollars in closed commissions. I also earned their prized 100% Club award every single year. I am also proud of earning the “Double Phoenix” Award from our local Board of Realtors, for being in their Million Dollar Club of Producers for 20 consecutive years.  I have also completed several Ga. State licensing programs for Real Estate Appraisers, Insurance sales, Residential Property adjuster,  and Residential Mortgage professions. In fact, for a 10 year period, I actually served in the dual-role of working as a full time real estate professional, as well as a residential Mortgage Loan originator. My customers really enjoyed the extra skill and knowledge that I brought in from the finance side of the business.

At this point in my Real Estate career, I am still highly motivated to provide quality customer service and the very best “superlative” marketing for my Sellers, along with the most productive assistance to my Buyer clients.

If you have the time, please take a look at what a few of my past customers have said about me, as their comments are listed under the Testimonial section on my home page.

I would truly value the opportunity of becoming your REALTOR here in the NE Suburban Atlanta Metro area of Georgia. I will endeavor to work tirelessly and diligently to produce results that please those of you who decide to trust me with your business!
